ACCESSIBILITY IS COOL FESTIVAL/A Mara

"La Mara", a popular trans who with her story caused a scandal in Lecce in the 1950s and until the moment of her death in 2001, was an uncomfortable character and able to highlight the hypocrisies and respectability of the city . At the Paisiello Theater the curtain rises on "A Mara", a theatrical homage directed by Fabrizio Saccomanno from an idea by Arianna Lupo and Eleonora Loche, both staged with Salvatore Cazzella. The show traces the particular story of Antonio Lanzalonga (at the registry office) who built a real empire in the historic center of Lecce, becoming the owner of over 20 apartments that he decided to donate to the Church in exchange for a religious funeral. His wish was never granted. The piece is a Movidabilia production, and is part of the initiatives of the "Accessibility is cool festival" which guarantees spectators a tactile visit of the scenography, a LIS translation of the entire show, live audio description, listening assisted, and paper supports in "Easy to read" language.
