A Christmas Carol/ Canto di Natale

The 2023-2024 theatre season at the Teatro Politeama Greco continues towards the heart of the festive season. To propitiate the Christmas air there is “A Christmas Carol”, a show by Compagnia dell'Alba, Teatro Stabile d'Abruzzo and New Step, reinterpreted by the director Fabrizio Angelini. On stage, Roberto Ciufoli is Ebenezer Scrooge, a famous character embodying greed, intent on counting the money he has accumulated. A visit from the ghost of his deceased business partner, followed by the ghosts of past, present, and future Christmas, disrupts his Christmas Eve and manages to change the soul of the greedy English moneylender forever. The tale is a metaphor for the time that slips through our fingers when we focus only on material things, completely losing sight of what really counts: affection, empathy, altruism.
