Yugen/ Tears and light

Officine Culturali Ergot is the venue for the official presentation of "Tears and Light," the new album by the Yugen project, produced by the Dodicilune label and distributed Feb. 7 by IRD and BELIEVE. The 2020-born trio consists of Salento residents Katya Fiorentino on piano, Stefano Compagnone on bass and Maurizio Tommasi on drums, who play the eight original tracks on the CD. In some pieces the trio is joined by Valerio Daniele on guitar, Giorgio Distante on trumpet and Francesco Massaro on electronics. The meaning of this first work is found in the trio's Japanese name, which indicates something "slightly" dark and mysterious, as only shadows can be.
