"Yaldâ' is the winter solstice, one of the most popular festivals in Iran. On the longest night of the year, Iranians stay awake until dawn to accompany the rebirth of the Sun. "Yaldâ is an ancestral family tradition steeped in poetry. In Iran, poetic language occupies a central place in life, in the arts, in philosophical meditation. In his solo Shadi Fathi proposes at the Fondo Verri, for the 'Tutti Solo' festival, a fascinating escape into a universe where love poetry responds to the Persian musical tradition. A unique cultural journey to the land of Thousand and One Nights, a musical journey studded with a myriad of improvisations and unique pieces from the classical Persian repertoire. Shadi Fathi was born in Tehran to Kurdish parents: in the capital he studied setar and shourangiz with the great master Ostad Dariush Tala'i during the Iraq-Iran War. He first learned the Radif, the classical repertoire, and then concentrated on interpretation. She continued her studies, also becoming an excellent daf and zarb player and became an expert musicologist, concert performer and teacher of Persian classical music.
