Tutti Solo/ Francesco Cusa e Giorgia Santoro

They have dedicated themselves to improvised music for years, in a continuous search for a new language that is both pure and irreverent. The Sicilian Francesco Cusa on drums and Giorgia Santoro from Salento (flute, bass flute, contrabass flute, piccolo, bansuri, xiao, voice, cymbals, live electronics) present their new project 'The black shoes'. In the harmonic alternation of yin and yang, the music reveals its opposite, contradictory sides, shaping ever new sonorities, as deep as the roots but with an eye to the sky. "The black shoes are the musician's shoes, black and worn", writes pianist and music critic Davide Ielmini, "total improvisations, which rely on the game of brevity to generate a magnetic tension in which the taste for thematic apparition is also rediscovered: something that seems to happen without premeditation, but which leaves a long trace of complicity". With the two musicians Cusa and Santoro, on the stage of the Fondo Verri for the Tutti Solo review, also Stefano Luigi Mangia and his splendid voice.
