Tutti Solo/ Alessandro D’Alessandro

He has moved the boundaries of ethnic music, expanding its sonorities and expressive capabilities through a skilful dosage of electronics. But his instrument, the one that has made him famous, is the accordion. Alessandro D'Alessandro, one of Italy's greatest talents in terms of technique and versatility, presents his project exploring songwriting "for prepared accordion & electronics", bringing a typical instrument of the folk tradition into dialogue with other styles, rhythms and harmonies. The breath of that bellows becomes "the breath of an orchestra" thanks to the personal and decidedly effective use of effects and loops, with harmonic and rhythmic overlaps also dictated by the instrument's percussion. D'Alessandro has fun measuring himself against the classics of national and international songs, solo, surprisingly turning his gaze towards a multitude of artistic universes, with the result of arousing a strong suggestion in the audience.
