The Legend of the Pianist on the Ocean/ Cicci Santucci

That 'silky' and poignant sound all together encapsulated the sense of nostalgia and bewilderment at the possibility of landing. It was Cicci Santucci's trumpet on the notes of Ennio Morricone that gave the film 'The Legend of the Pianist on the Ocean' the atmosphere of the story. Santucci arrives in Lecce with his 5tet, guest of "Teatini in musica", an event organised by the Camerata Musicale Salentina in collaboration with the municipality. For years resident in the United States, the musician, born in 1939, has been directed not only by the great and unforgettable Morricone, but also by masters of the calibre of Trovajoli, Ferrio, Bakalov, and Ortolani, the latter of whom is celebrated in the unfolding of the concert's setlist. Trumpeter and flugelhorn player, Cicci Santucci will be joined by vocalist Valentina Rossi, Bruno Zoia on double bass and Davide Pentassuglia on drums. At the piano, the extraordinary Luca Ruggero Jacovella, whose collaborations include one with legendary jazz musician Tony Scott.
