TAGGHIATE URBAN FEST/ Moka Family

It's a big musical merry-go-round, an amusement park. More: it is a Crazy Park that the Moka Family bring to the stage of the Tagghiate Urban Fest. A big band from southern Italy made up of 14 elements including trombones, clarinet, piano, tuba bass, drums, baritone sax, alto sax, trumpet and, of course, vocals, they give life to an unprecedented and enthralling sound in which American walking becomes Italian marching and Rock'n'Roll gives way to complex and intriguing instrumental sections. Moka Family's original pieces are the expression of a long research and musical writing that combines the language of traditional southern Italian bands with the music of American Big Bands, finding for American swing a new dimension, implanted in the Apulian band humus. A show in which each piece is experienced as if it were a merry-go-round, a metaphor for the journey of the protagonist who, living in the company of his Moka Musicale inside Crazy park, discovers himself by retracing the history of those imaginary merry-go-rounds.
