Salento Organ Festival/ Accademia Ducale

In the many stages of its itinerant journey, the 2023 edition of the Salento Organ Festival invites refined musical performers, such as those of Accademia Ducale. The ensemble includes musicians with an excellent chamber and orchestral curriculum, whose training is enriched by international artistic experiences. Erminia Nigro plays the clarinet, Marco Coviello the bassoon, Tiziana Malagnini the horn, Francesca Cicolecchia the violin, Giuseppe Giugliano the viola, Vito Stano the cello and Giuseppe D'Amico the double bass. Together they perform Ludwig van Beethoven's 'Il Settimino' concerto for winds and strings op. 20, one of the masterpieces of music of all time. The piece, composed in honour of Empress Maria Theresia between 1799 and 1800, was premiered on 2 April 1800 at the National Hoftheater in Vienna and was immediately a great success with both the public and music critics.
