Sacred Nights/ Requiem Mass

Last appointment in Lecce with "Notti sacre", the festival born in Bari that for 13 years has animated its historic centre with "Art, music, thought, prayer and entertainment", as the subtitle states. Landing in Salento thanks to Vallisa Cultura, ArtWork, the Archdiocese of Lecce and the Pontifical Council for Culture in collaboration with the 'Splendor Fidei' Foundation, also with the aim of enhancing the artistic heritage and ecclesiastical assets of the dioceses, the event takes its leave with Nino Rota's Requiem Mass for voices and organ, written by the Milanese composer at the age of 12 for the death of his father and never performed before. The event will also feature young singers from the Conservatorio 'Niccolò Piccinni' and the University of Bari, from 'Florilegium Vocis' and the Bari Polifonica 'Biagio Grimaldi', as well as the 'Harmonia' choir: on stage will be about one hundred singers under the guidance of Maestro Sabino Manzo. Conductor of the ensemble for the occasion will be American maestro Jonathan Hirsch. At the organ Annarosa Partipilo.
