OLES/ Christmas concert

The traditional Christmas concert, conducted by Maestro Realino Mazzotta, President of the Lecce and Salento Symphony Orchestra Oles, is dedicated to the victims of the war in Ukraine. The voice of soprano Luciana Distante and the Lecce Opera Choir, directed by Vincenza Baglivo, with whom the orchestra has been collaborating for over forty years, ever since it was called the Ico-Tito Schipa Foundation, with national and international tours, will rise up among the aisles of Lecce Cathedral. The concert, consisting of famous arias from the operas of Richard Wagner, Giuseppe Verdi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonio Vivaldi and Pietro Mascagni, is enriched by the extraordinary participation of the cathedral's polyphonic liturgical choir, directed by Tonio Calabrese, as well as the Choir and Orchestra of the Liceo Classico Musicale Palmieri. In memory of the victims of the war in Ukraine, Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem 'Libera me, Domine' for soprano, choir and orchestra will be performed.
