It's in the sign of folk and Balkan rhythms as the countdown to the new year begins. New Year's Eve in Lecce is all about Piazza Libertini to get together and greet the departing year. It begins with Enzo Petrachi and his Folkorchestra reproposing the classics of the Lecce repertoire and of the unforgettable Bruno Petrachi, such as "Arcu de Pratu," "Mieru, pezzetti e cazzotti," "La zitella," and "La coppula," then moving on to his son's musical lineup, always, in the vein of the most authentic and true Leccesanity. Next, the microphone changes hands and looks East with the refined fanfare of the BandAdriatica led by Claudio Prima, who takes the audience along a journey across the Adriatic and its shores. A logbook that speaks the language of irregular rhythms, whispers the melodies of Arabic scales, draws inspirations from traditional Salento, New Balkan and Afro music.
