New Year's Eve 2023 in the square

The New Year's Eve bangs are more musical than ever in Lecce, in Piazza Libertini, where the New Year's Eve celebrations organised by the municipality are back. Bidding farewell to the old year and waiting for the new one, the bottles are uncorked and people dance under the big stage together with a line-up of Salento artists who offer the public a musical and transversal mix ranging from folk to taranta to electro-tribal. On stage is the funk machine of the Bundamove and their entire musical retinue of 'friends': from the histrionic 'Puccia' and Cesko of Après la Classe, to the enthralling Antonio Castrignanò and the very real Enzo Petrachi.

But the last evening of 2022 also offers Lecce residents the very special sound of Cinzia Marzo, Giorgio Doveri and Donatello Pisanello of Officina Zoè, true ambassadors of the pizzica in the world, and Mundial, a new musical project by Carmine Tundo together with Roberto Mangialardo and Alberto Manco that moves between oral traditions and rhythmic patterns. The evening, conducted and presented by Tony Tinelli, also features the very young Ade & Mufu and Castromassi DJ sets.
