Mareaperto/ Rachele Andrioli

After the episode at the Castello Volante in Corigliano d'Otranto, MareAperto, the Manigold cultural association's review of border music, returns to Officine Cantelmo with Rachele Andrioli. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist presents 'Leuca', her first record as a soloist, produced by FinisTerre with the support of Puglia Sounds. In her live performance, Rachele accompanies her voice with frame drums, harmonic flutes, marranzani, stringed instruments and skilfully makes use of electronics. Her evocation of ancestral rituals enraptures and leads to another place, full of suggestions and colours. From the end of the earth, that Capo di Leuca place of birth and belonging, Andrioli widens her gaze to the world, merging the local folk repertoire with the musical traditions of all the Souths. A project that looks to the sea, crossed by all-female waves, renewing the tradition thanks to the participation of "Coro a Coro", an ensemble of about 40 women's voices, founded and directed by the Salento artist herself.
