Alessia Tondo, one of Salento's best-known popular voices, opens the 14th edition of MareAperto, a festival dedicated to world music by the Manigold cultural association and under the artistic direction of Claudio Prima. For the first of the four scheduled events, the singer and musician from Salento will take the stage, presenting tracks from the album 'Sita', her successful debut solo album, winner of the Loano Giovani 2022 Award, reserved for the best album by musicians under 35. After a long career as the voice of the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino and many collaborations with other artists, Alessia Tondo felt the need to have her say in original songs, in which she modulates her voice with particular vocal weaves and ballads in the Salento dialect. During the evening there is also a preview screening of "Guaritrici", directed by Claudia Mollese and produced by Domenico Coduto for Ipe Ipe music in the Puglia Sounds Producers 2023 Programming. A docufilm linked to the central themes of Alessia Tondo's album, such as the territory, healing, ancient knowledge, female consciousness. Past and future, tradition and avant-garde, everyday and eternal in a daring, enigmatic, revelatory experiment. Admission free.
