Locomotive Jazz Festival/ Alba Locomotive 2022

On the night of Aug. 8-9, the 2022 edition, the 17th, of the Locomotive Jazz Festival closes on the free beach of San Cataldo Marina, facing the beautiful sunrise over the Adriatic Sea. For "Alba Locomotive 2022," artistic director Raffaele Casarano meets Giuliano Sangiorgi, featuring Mirko Signorile on piano, Giorgio Vendola on double bass, Alessandro Monteduro on percussion, Marco D'Orlando on drums and with the extraordinary participation of the Moka Family Big Banda. The theme of this edition of the LJF is "Masks," the metaphorical ones we often hide behind in everyday life and on social media, or the physical ones to defend ourselves from the pandemic, but also those of Carnival, a symbol of celebration and joy. Locomotive's music brings us back to the truth made up of encounters and humble smiles, to the need to return to the center of ourselves, telling ourselves in all our imperfections, as well as in simplicity and human emotions.

Proceeds are partly donated to the redevelopment of the San Cataldo playground.

On the occasion of the concert, connections between the capitol and the marina are greatly enhanced from the evening of August 8 until the following morning to enable everyone to reach the show safely and without using a car.

The shuttle buses run on a single route, the S16 Locomotive, departing from Costa Street, which is connected to the free interchange parking lots at Settelacquare and the biweekly Market and intermediate stops at Emperor Hadrian Street, Palio Square and Pythagoras Street.

On the outward journey, buses leave Costa Street from 9:30 p.m. with frequency every half hour and from 11 p.m. every quarter hour until 4:45 a.m.

For the return, at the end of the concert, the entire fleet of buses returns from San Cataldo, following the route back.
