Lecce in theatre/ Maria Gadù

'The first time I saw her I was dazzled, and when she started singing she was spectacular'. The words are Caetano Veloso's; she, on the other hand, is Maria Gadù, a true phenomenon of her generation who jumped to the top of the world charts with 'Shimbalaiê'. The Brazilian singer-songwriter, who has been immersed in music since she was seven years old, in parallel to her glittering career has dedicated herself to studying anthropology, sociology and the history of pre-Columbian Brazil and is politically committed to supporting the causes of indigenous people as well as the LGBT community, feminism and anti-racism. During her European tour, she landed in Lecce on the stage of the Apollo theatre for the 'Lecce a teatro' festival organised by AR Live. He thus celebrates his 20-year career and the release of his latest album 'Quem sabe Isso quer dizer amor' and, for the occasion, offers the audience several Brazilian songs that have influenced his career, paying tribute to Caetano Veloso, Gonzaguinha, Marisa Monte, Rita Lee, Renato Russo and the Italian Daniele Silvestri.
