Lecce, Christmas in.../ In the East its star

"Le pittule ce suntu me sai dire?/ Nu picca te farina a mienzu l'uegghiu,/ ma lu Natale nu se po sentire/ se mancanu le pittule: lu megghiu!'. This is the incipit of the set to music version of a poem by Don Franco Lupo, 'Pittule', one of the songs inspired by the Salento folk tradition that make up the repertoire of the concert 'In Oriente la sua stella. The night of the Three Kings', which comes to life in the church of Sant'Irene. The Christmas songs and sonnets, the magic of the popular verses that Salentine children still recite on the feast day, are re-proposed by the Fondazione La Notte della Taranta together with the Fondazione Splendor Fidei. On stage, the voices and music of: Antonio Amato, Consuelo Alfieri, Nico Berardi, Roberto Gemma, Gioele Nuzzo, Giuseppe Astore, Leonardo Cordella. Dance: Serena Pellegrino and Fabrizio Nigro.
