La Cantiga de la Serena/ La Novia

Recalling a strongly symbolic image is the title of La Cantiga de la Serena's latest record, "La Novia" (The Bride), which represents a promise of love. Combining different songs, languages, histories and traditions, generating original creations, is the meaning of the ensemble's musical research. Since 2008, Fabrizio Piepoli (voice, beating guitar, classical guitar, shruti box, daff, bendir, tambourine, qraqeb), Giorgia Santoro (flute, bansuri, contrabass flute, Celtic harp, duduk, sajat, cymbals, palmas, voice) and Adolfo La Volpe (oud, classical guitar, tar, voice) constantly recover and rework the ancient music of the Mediterranean basin, re-proposing in a refined and personal key a repertoire that straddles the West and the East, in a mysterious yet elegant balance between innovation and tradition. Among the scents of the Koreja ortale, they present live the 11 songs from their fourth album, sung in Ladino, Arabic, Italian and Griko. Special guests with them on stage are Faraualla, Nabil Bey, L'Escargot, Andrea De Siena and Roberto Chiga, who collaborated on the album.
