'Scrivo canzoni per mosche e zanzare' (Glider Records/Belive), is the fourth album by Salento crooner and songwriter Maurizio Petrelli. It is presented live in a concert organised by Soul Brothers and DeLù at the Officine Cantelmo. On stage Maurizio Petrelli is accompanied by Nando Mancarella on piano, Michele Colaci on bass, Stefano Nuzzone on guitar, Paolo Colazzo on drums and Franco Sgura on trumpet/flugelhorn. A refined and intimate record, it departs from the big band and jazz orchestra style that characterises his previous works. In this album, Petrelli takes a sincere stock of his life, retracing past life experiences in music, with the bitter awareness of a world that no longer exists, but also and above all with a great desire for rebirth. It is no coincidence that the record was released during lockdown, a period of intense introspection and deep reflection for the artist from Monteroni.
