Great New Year's Concert/Lecce Band

It is the Band of the City of Lecce "Nino Farì" that welcomes the new year. City brass symphonies fill the Apollo Theater in the most classic tradition of the "Great New Year's Concert." The event, on the occasion of World Peace Day, is organized by the Lecce City Council in collaboration with PugliArmonica and the Salento Music Association. The 38-member band was formed in 2019 at the behest of this administration, bringing back the long band tradition and that of the "tour bands." Under the baton of maestro Giovanni Pellegrini on the program is a set list of about 90 minutes, embracing arias from Norma, Carmen, L'italiana in Algeri, Barbiere di Siviglia, La Traviata, Cenerentola, Turandot and concluding with the Radetzky March.
