Giuseppe Magagnino/ My Inner Child

Giuseppe Magagnino presents his first solo album, 'My Inner Child', released in July by GleAM Records. On the programme are songs from the new project, an unpublished composition and jazz standards with original arrangements. Joining the Salento pianist and composer on stage are Luca Alemanno on double bass and Karl-Henrik Ousback on drums, the same musicians also featured on the album. Both perfectly interpret the artist's feeling, the characteristics of his sound and musical language. The project begins with 'My Inner Child', the title composition of the record, which was created during the 2020 lockdown, the period when concerts were suspended, during which Magagnino clearly defines the concept of his record, putting together productions from the years between 2017 and 2021.

It is a journey back in time, to the author's childhood, which triggers some personal and profound reflections on the playful approach, curiosity and enthusiasm towards music and the musical instrument, which are in danger of fading away under the weight of the expectations and tensions typical of professional activity. In this first work as a leader Giuseppe Magagnino, with Luca Alemanno and Karl-Henrik Ousback, explores the potential of the piano trio and leaves room for small samples in piano solo, trying to pour his whole self into the writing and performance with the experience of listening to and studying the great pianists, who in recent decades have been a reference point for him and for new generations of musicians and jazz enthusiasts.

At 8.30 pm, a wine tasting by the Compagnia dei Vinai will precede the concert, organised by Cecyntè, Festinamente and GleAM Records.

Admission is by compulsory booking and membership fee of €15, including the welcome tasting. Non-numbered seats.
