Forrò Lecce, Festa brasileira de dança popular

An encounter with Brazilian dance and music is 'Forrò Lecce, Festa brasileira de dança popular'. Organised by the Manigold cultural association, in collaboration with Manifatture Knos, this is the first of the appointments, one per month, with the dance typical of north-east Brazil, now popular worldwide. The forró is a couple dance, very rhythmic and sensual, born in the early 20th century, hybridising European melody with African rhythm. In via vecchia Frigole Italian and Brazilian masters teach the basic steps of the forrò (from the English 'for all') in an open class. Special guest the expert musician and dancer from São Paulo Valter Guerra. Between a taste of traditional carioca dishes and a sip of caipirinha, the evening continues with a jam session of Italian and Brazilian musicians. Participants include Clara Blavet (flute), Simone Carrino (tambourine), Matteo Resta (bass), Claudio Prima (accordion and vocals), Mestre Canhao (percussion), Alessandro Lorusso (guitar), Valentina Cantora (vocals) and Marco Mariano (percussion).
Admission with a contribution of 5 euros.
