Classiche forme/ Trio Tharsos

Eliminating barriers between stage and audience, bringing together Salento's popular traditions with classical music, presenting artists with established careers alongside up-and-coming youngsters, commissioning new works, discussing topical musical issues, investing in audience renewal. These are the prerogatives of Classiche Forme, the International Chamber Music Festival under the artistic direction of Beatrice Rana. In collaboration with Avos Project, an international music school in Rome, Trio Tharsos performs at sunset in the lush roof garden of the Academy of Fine Arts. On the setlist Trio élégiaque n°1 in G minor by Sergej Rachmaninoff (on the 150th anniversary of his birth), Trio op. 120 in D minor by Gabriel Fauré, Trio op. 15 in G minor by Bedřich Smetana. The Trio Tharsos was born in Florence in the summer of 2021, as the natural evolution of a great friendship between three young musicians from the 'L. Cherubini' Conservatory. Ludovico Mealli, Leonardo Ascione and Fabio Fornaciari play the violin, cello and piano respectively. The festival, organised by the 'Opera Prima' Association, is also realised thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Territorial Development of the Region of Apulia.
