Classiche forme/ Marmen String Quartet-The Teyber Trio-Stephen Waarts

Since 2017, the Classiche Forme festival has been bringing great music to art sites, to the green countryside, to the most iconic places in Salento. It is the elegant cloister of the Rectorate that hosts the notes of 'Four in Eight', the concert dedicated to Béla Bartók's String Quartet No. 4, Sz. 91, BB 95 and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Octet for Strings in E-flat Major, Op. 20. On stage Marmen String Quartet, The Teyber Trio and Stephen Waarts. The Marmen String Quartet, a line-up with Sinéad O'Halloran on cello, Bryony Gibson-Cornish on viola, Laia Valentin Braun on violin and Johannes Marmen on violin, has established itself in ten years as one of the most surprising and popular new groups in the world of chamber music. The Teyber Trio boasts Tim Crawford on violin, Tim Ridout on viola and Tim Posner on cello. These three talented young instrumentalists (interestingly, all named Tim) chose the group's name in homage to the great 18th century Austrian organist Anton Teyber, kapellmeister and prolific composer. Young violin star Stephen Waarts, who already has more than 30 violin and orchestra concertos to his credit, has an innate, poetic musical voice that has made him a favourite with international audiences. The festival, organised by the 'Opera Prima' Association, is also realised thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Territorial Development of the Region of Apulia.
