Classiche forme/ Marathon final

"My dream is that truly Classiche Forme is now, after only seven years of work, the sound of Salento. For me, it is a dream come true in music'. This is how Beatrice Rana, protagonist with nine other wonderful artists of the final evening of the festival, the Final Marathon, expresses her wish at the origin of the festival. Grand closing with a three-stage journey, a chamber music concert in three acts conceived by the Salento pianist by studying the layouts of the early 20th century, when in an era when works of art could not be reproduced, the desire for live music was so acute as to require veritable marathons. The first part is dedicated to Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances for Two Pianos, Op. 45. The second combines Schubert's 'Der Hirt auf dem Felsen D 965', Liszt's 'Tre Sonetti del Petrarca S 270' and Rachmaninoff's 'Vocalise'. Closing is Saint-Saëns' 'Carnival of the Animals'. In addition to Beatrice Rana on piano, the other performers are Maja Avramovič on violin, Tim Crawford on violin, mezzo-soprano Chiara Osella, Emmanuel Pahud on flute, Tim Posner on cello, Ludovica Rana on cello, Timothy Ridout on viola, Massimo Spada on piano, and Kevin Spagnolo on clarinet. The festival, organised by the 'Opera Prima' Association, is also realised thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Territorial Development of the Region of Apulia.
