Classiche forme/ Jota

It is nocturnal, under the stars and with a view over the historic centre of Lecce, the third appointment with Classiche Forme, an international and widespread festival of chamber music in the art and nature of Salento. Founded and directed by Beatrice Rana, who has always dreamed of making this intangible work of art, which was not there, the 'sound of the Salento landscape', the festival hosts the performance of Erica Piccotti and Gian Marco Ciampa. These two artists with an international profile explore the many facets of their repertoire, which stems from the union of Latin American folk music and European cultured music. They embark on a journey from Spanish folklore to South American folk tango, from Mallorca Op.202 by Isaac Albeniz to Asturiana, El Paño Moruno, Nana and Jota from Manuel De Falla's 'Siete canciones populares Españolas' to Danza Española Op.37, No.5 'Andaluza' by Enrique Granados. Working with the duo is Simone Cardini, who edited the arrangements and transcriptions of Astor Piazzolla's "Adios Nonino & Invierno Porteno", "Bordell 1900 & Cafe 1930" and "Oblivion & Escualo". The festival, organised by the 'Opera Prima' Association, is also realised thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Territorial Development of the Region of Apulia.
