Classiche Forme/ Inaugural Concert

"My desire is to bring to my Salento all the emotions I experience playing around the world, creating a strong connection between territory, guests and music". This is the passionate mission of Beatrice Rana, world-renowned pianist and artistic director of the International Chamber Music Festival, this year in its seventh edition. With Beatrice Rana herself at the piano, Ludovica Rana on cello and Stephen Waarts on violin, the opening concert is dedicated to the Sonata for Violin and Piano in B minor, P 110 by Ottorino Respighi and Trio No. 1 for Piano and Strings in D minor, Op. 32 by Anton Arensky. Amidst the architectural charms of the Rector's cloister, the audience can enjoy a very rare and very interesting Respighi chamber works, which mark that still undiscovered early 20th century Italian composer. In addition to the coeval Russian composer Arensky, who recalls Respighi's stay in Russia at the beginning of his career. And above all, as Beatrice Rana enthusiastically puts it, 'making us listen to beautiful music'. The festival, organised by the 'Opera Prima' Association, is also realised thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Territorial Development of the Apulia Region.
