Classiche forme/ Duo Sabatini-Rugani

Born seven years ago out of Beatrice Rana's passion for music and contagious enthusiasm, Classiche Forme has quickly entered the inner circle of Italy's most representative festivals. "Every year, the festival aims higher and higher," says the celebrated Lecce pianist, "because I really like the idea that the international, cosmopolitan and free spirit of the new audience in Salento has in Classiche Forme a real window on the best the world has to offer. Some concerts of the seventh edition are conceived in collaboration with the Accademia nazionale di Santa Cecilia alta formazione in Rome. This is the case of the nocturne "Perpetuum mobile", held in the special roof garden of the Accademia di Belle Arti, with the Duo Sabatini-Rugani playing the Sonata for violin and piano op.108 No.3 by Johannes Brahms, the Thème et variations for violin and piano by Olivier Messiaen and finally the Sonata No.2 for violin and piano by Maurice Ravel. The Duo Sabatini-Rugani consists of Daniele Sabatini on violin and Simone Rugani on piano.  It is a multifaceted ensemble, dedicated since its inception to sharing its passion for chamber music with the public, with a distinct interest in contemporary music. The festival, organised by the 'Opera Prima' Association, is also made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Territorial Development of the Region of Puglia.
