Classiche Forme/ Concert for the City

Simple in form but sophisticated in content. It is a 'family' festival that was founded at only 23 years of age by Beatrice Rana and is now in its seventh edition. From the outset, "Classiche forme" has been art music in beauty and nature with internationally renowned artists, informally performing in the most beautiful places in Lecce and, for the past few editions, also in the province. The festival, one of the most eagerly awaited events of the summer, encompasses no less than 13 appointments and, in addition to the founder, who is now acknowledged as a world-class pianist, offers the opportunity to meet some of the biggest names in international concert music, often in new formations created just for the occasion. The preview concert, 'Concert for the City', is in the bucolic atmosphere of the Belloluogo park and features 'I virtuosi di Sansevero' at the instruments. The ensemble, which has the particularity of having no conductor and each member is an excellent soloist, is the brainchild of Riccardo Zamuner, a young Neapolitan violinist, who has brought together some of the most talented string instrument students from the Stauffer Academy in Cremona, the Accademia Nazionale di alto perfezionamento di Santa Cecilia and other important international academies. On the setlist: 'The Four Seasons' by Antonio Vivaldi.

The festival, organised by the 'Opera Prima' Association, is also realised thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Territorial Development of the Region of Puglia.
