Camerata Musicale Salentina/ The Tzigans of Budapest

Camerata Musicale Salentina/ The Tzigans of Budapest

Discover traditional Hungarian music in the second of 13 scheduled appointments for the 53rd concert season, signed Camerata Musicale Salentina. On stage at the Apollo Theatre are 'The Tzigans of Budapest', an orchestral ensemble conducted by Antal Szalai, considered the world's best tzigan violinist. They play Magyar Gypsy music around Europe, which encompasses a variety of genres, from Balkan music to manouche jazz and flamenco. Gypsy music combines its own peculiarities, including improvisational skills and strong emotional expressiveness, with the musical characteristics of the host location. The Budapest Tzigans play famous pieces such as the Hungarian dances of Brahms and Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody, as well as popular music of the Gypsy culture such as the famous 'csárdás', which are still danced in Hungarian taverns today. In order to make it possible for children to attend the concert with their children, the CMS offers a music workshop for children from 6 years of age in the theatre's auditorium. The cost ranges from 8 to 10 euros per child, with the possibility of attending the performance.

Tickets: from €8 to €27 on sale at CMS, online and in the Vivaticket circuit sales outlets.
