Camerata Musicale Salentina/ Astor, a century of tango

It was Enrique Santos Discépolo who defined the tango as 'a sad thought that is danced'. All those missed hugs, those daily 'little deaths', those denied kisses that belong to each of us seem to give energy to the steps of 'Astor, a century of tango', a dance concert that sees the Balletto di Roma on stage at the Apollo, for the 54th season of the Camerata Musicale Salentina. A transformative journey in which breaths, embraces and fusions are at the centre of Valerio Longo's intense choreographic actions, abstracted and fused in that magic wave motion of the bandoneón by Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, brilliant performer of Piazzolla's music arranged by Luca Salvadori.
