Brass Quintet

It is the church of Sant'Irene, a Baroque treasure chest in the heart of the city, that will host the concert of the Brass Quintet OFP, a spin-off of the Orchestra Filarmonica Pugliese. OFP was born in 2013 from the desire of a group of experienced musicians to create a new cultural musical pole of reference, through which the Region of Puglia promotes and disseminates quality classical music. The Brass OFP Quintet is composed of the first parts of the Orchestra Filarmonica Pugliese, namely Antonio Mastrapasqua and Cataldo di Tommaso trumpets, Roberto Zurlo horn, Biagio Demichino trombone, and Domenico Balenzano tuba. The five musicians accompany the audience on a historical musical journey from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to composer Luigi Capuano, via Edward Elgar, Giuseppe Verdi and Nino Rota. The performance, organised by OFP in collaboration with the Camerata Musicale Salentina, is the preview of the 53rd concert season of the CMS.
