A.M. Family Gospel Choir

"Oh happy day," the evening Mass at the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, in the central Piazza Sant'Oronzo, is animated by the A.M. Family gospel choir. A real "blessing" for fans of the "word of God" genre, songs of Afro-American folk origin on evangelical themes, which originated in the IXX century USA. The gospel choir "A.M. Family," composed of about 40 elements, is directed by Elisabetta Guido, a nationally renowned jazz musician, and accompanied on piano by Carla Petrachi, professor of piano at the Tito Schipa music conservatory in Lecce. Born in 2003, it has collaborated with international artists such as the Golden Gospel Singers, Arthur Miles, and Melvin Brown. Offerings collected during the gospel mass go toward the restoration of the church's antique organ.
