Vittorio De Seta and the themes of his cinema

The day dedicated to the Sicilian director Vittorio De Seta begins with a conference on his work and the themes of his cinema, scheduled for the afternoon in the Rector's Rectory conference room, in Piazza Tancredi. The conference will be introduced by the Rector Fabio Pollice and the Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage Raffaele Casciaro. Speakers include Luca Bandirali (University of Salento), Marco Bertozzi (IUAV University of Venice), Antioco Floris (University of Cagliari), Alma Mileto (Sapienza-University of Rome) and Antonello Zanda (Sardinian Film Library). Banditi a Orgosolo is one of the most important films in the cinematic history of Sardinia. 'For those working in the world of cinema today,' says Antonello Zanda, 'De Seta's masterpiece is an inescapable pillar, as it marks a milestone in the cultural representation of our island and our history'.
