TEATINI CINEMA/ Un anno con Salinger

For "Teatini Cinema," the summer arena of DB d'Essai in collaboration with the City of Lecce, "Audience's Choice," films selected by viewers through an online poll, are screened every Thursday. Today the choice falls on "A Year with Salinger," a 2020 comedy directed by Philippe Falardeau, starring Margaret Qualley and Sigourney Weaver, lasting 101 minutes. Set in 1990s New York, it tells the story of Joanna, who drops out of college to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. She gets a job as an assistant to literary agent Margaret and is tasked with answering stacks of letters, received daily from the famous writer J. D. Salinger, author of "The Catcher in the Rye," who lives purposefully hidden from fans and the world.

Beginning at 9 p.m., with box office opening and entrance to the cloister from 8 p.m.
