Teatini Cinema/ The Son

Nicholas, 17, no longer wants to live with his mother. His parents are divorced; his father has rebuilt his family with a new partner. "The Son," a film by Florian Zeller screening for the "Teatini Cinema" festival curated by DB d'Essai in collaboration with the City Council, is the story of a son who experiences the pain of living by constantly taking refuge in his childhood memories, the best period of his life, the only one. The father will take in Nicholas trying to make amends for his mistakes, but his hectic life and involvement in politics make him lose sight of his son's present. A film with claustrophobic atmospheres that well render the inner shadowy world of psychological suffering of the young protagonist.
