"You are a hummingbird because, like the hummingbird, you put all your energy into remaining still", is what Luisa writes to Marco, the protagonist of "Il colibrì" (The Hummingbird), a film by Francesca Archibugi based on the novel by Sandro Veronesi, winner of the Strega prize. From the pages to the film unfolds the story of a man (on screen Pierfrancesco Favino) who goes back in time, to the rooms of his adolescence and life, to try to understand the present and, perhaps, decide how to live that part of the future that is still his. Love, pain, disappointment, joy, acceptance are the baggage of an existence that, sooner or later, simply has to be recognised as a life lived.
