Teatini Cinema/ Stranizza d’Amuri

Dedicated to Giorgio and Antonio, victims of the Giarre crime, which occurred in 1980 in the province of Catania, Giuseppe Fiorello's film 'Stranizza d'amuri' runs on the screen of 'Teatini Cinema', an event organised by the DB d'Essai in collaboration with the municipality. The story, set in the summer of 1982 when Italy was quivering for the World Cup, is that of Gianni and Nino, two adolescents who, after an initial clash, strike up a deep friendship. A friendship that will become something more and that will never be accepted by their respective families and the country.
