Teatini Cinema/ Shark Teet

Debut film for director Davide Gentile, class of 1985, on view for the Teatini Cinema festival curated by DB d'Essai in collaboration with the City Council. A 104-minute coming-of-age tale from 2023, it stars Virginia Raffaele, Claudio Santamaria and Edoardo Pesce. It is a summer unlike any other for 13-year-old Walter, the first without his father Antonio, a former criminal who died in a sewage treatment plant saving the life of a colleague. He and his mother Rita, who does not accept the grief, are left alone, closing in more and more on herself and distancing herself from her son. School has just ended and Walter spends his days, wandering aimlessly on his bicycle through the streets of Ostia. Until his attention is caught by a mysterious place, an apparently abandoned villa with a large pool with murky water.
