Teatini Cinema/ Passages

Another first viewing at the Teatini Cinema festival, curated by DB d'Essai in collaboration with the City Council. It's "Passages," a 91-minute drama film directed by Ira Sachs, original language version with Italian subtitles, banned for children under 14. Tomas (Franz Rogowski) is a famous director, happily married to Martin. On the last day of shooting his new film in Paris, he meets the young teacher Agathe by chance and feels a strong attraction for her. He proudly mentions this to her husband Martin (Ben Whishaw), expressing his desire to deepen that exciting experience with a woman. As the days go by, passion overcomes doubts and Tomas leaves the house she shares with her husband. When Martin also begins an extramarital affair with a handsome writer, Tomas retraces his steps. However, he does not intend to give up Agathe, and this love affair between three people, full of narcissism, passion and jealousy, will end up making everyone suffer.
