TEATINI CINEMA/ Elvis

For "Teatini Cinema", the summer arena of the DB d'Essai in collaboration with the Municipality of Lecce, Thursdays are screening "Chosen by the public", the films selected by viewers through an online survey.
Popular with audiences is the musical biopic 'Elvis' by Baz Luhrmann, starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks, recently released in cinemas. In 159 minutes on the big screen, the life of the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, unfolds. From his beginnings to when he became a star legend, sweeping away some of the innocence of the time. The relationship with his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, is portrayed with particular care. With him, Elvis entered into an artistic partnership, which lasted about twenty years. The film focuses precisely on this complex relationship, from the beginnings of the career of the one who became the first rock star in history to the achievement of planetary fame, up to that summit never before touched by anyone. All this while America goes through a socio-cultural and political upheaval, which leads to great changes. The film also recounts his relationship with Priscilla, the woman with whom the star got married in 1967 and, despite his many real or presumed escapades, the only woman the King ever loved and married.
Beginning at 9 p.m., with box office opening and entrance to the cloister from 8 p.m.
