TEATINI CINEMA/ Belfast

TEATINI CINEMA/ Belfast

In the cloister of one of the most elegant buildings in the historic center, the Teatini Cinema festival presents "Award-winning Cinema," or films that have earned prestigious awards at the most important film festivals. "Belfast" is a 2021 107-minute film starring Jamie Dornan and Jude Hill. Written and directed by Kenneth Branagh, at the 2022 Academy Awards it won the statuette for best original screenplay. Buddy is a 9-year-old boy who lives with his parents and grandparents in North Belfast and spends all his free time at the movies or in front of the television watching American films and programs. The story, set in the late 1960s, takes place during the beginning of the Troubles, the Northern Irish conflict that lasted a full 30 years. The tranquility of Belfast is supplanted by general discontent, with Catholics taking sides against Protestants. Riots and attacks begin, until the whole city becomes the scene of civil war turmoil. Buddy's childhood is now marked. The serenity experienced up to that point gives way to many questions.

Beginning at 9 p.m., with box office opening and entrance to the cloister from 8 p.m.

Tickets: 7 euros; 6.50 including presale for those purchasing online at https://dbdessai.18tickets.it/
