Vive le cinéma/ Open spaces for viewing

A story about illusion and transformation, set in Rio de Janeiro. At the Castromediano museum, Open Spaces of Vision, the extra section of Vive le cinéma, begins at 10 am with the screening of 'Obscuro Barroco', a 'documentary fiction' that explores the theme of gender and urban rituals in the hedonistic realm of the 'cidade maravilhosa'. Greek director Evanghelia Kranioti offers a portrait of Brazilian transgender Luana Muniz (1961-2017), an icon of queer culture. This will be followed, at 11 a.m., by the talk "Cinema and rights", one of the central themes of this edition of the festival. This will be discussed with Iranian Mina Kavani, one of the festival's international guests, an award-winning actress and activist, symbol of the battle against the repression of the Tehran regime.
