European Film Festival/ Time of Giants

The 23rd edition of the European Film Festival opens with a tribute to the olive trees of Salento. Davide Barletti and Lorenzo Conte's "Il tempo dei giganti" tells the story of Giuseppe's journey to his father's land, in the Plain of the Monumental Olive Trees, where an epidemic is about to arrive that is killing millions of olive trees, disrupting the landscape, the economy and human relations. Guiding viewers on the journey is the "third look" of Werner Waas, a German actor and playwright with close ties to Salento who cannot understand why people who speak the same language, if not the same dialect, have stopped understanding each other, and why it is so difficult to find a common response to such an urgent and shared problem. The film is produced by Dinamo Film and Fluid Produzioni with the contribution of the Apulia Film Commission. After the screening, a meeting with the directors and Ivan D'Ambrosio for Dinamo Film.
