Ceasefire / Cease fire

Ceasefire / Cease fire

The one screened in national preview at the auditorium of the Castromediano Museum is a story declined through three short films, with some shots taken in Salento. Iranian director Ghazi Rabihavi presents “Ceasefire / Cessate il fuoco” which addresses the issue of violence against women. Three protagonists and three very different stories, united by the same destiny: to suffer inexorably male violence. “Zeytun” (Olive tree) shows the devastating effects of war against nature, whose vulnerability the protagonist becomes a symbol. "Fairy Lights" reflects on the condition of women in countries where religious power coincides with political power. "Love & Sickle" (Love and Scythe) talks about domestic violence, inspired by a news story that really happened in 2020 in the North of Iran. Ghazi Rabihavi, a sixty-six-year-old playwright and civil rights activist as well as director, talks about the film in the auditorium of the Castromediano Museum with the UniSalento sociologist Fabio De Nardis and the Lecce prima journalist Valentina Murrieri.
