ALBANIA, SI GIRA/Notte senza luna

From Italy to Albania and back. On the 30th anniversary of the docking on the Apulian coast of the Vlora, the ship carrying the largest cargo of human beings in history, more than 20,000 people fleeing Albania, "Albania, si Gira", the Albanian film festival, arrives in the cloister of the Teatini. The screen turns on "Notte senza luna", a 2004 film by Artan Minarolli on the violence of the regime and its effects in the transition period. The story is that of 16-year-old Rumina, who leaves her village with her grandfather to emigrate to the West. On the train she meets Gjergj, who is also seeking his fortune with his friend Millo. It is the beginning of a long journey with an uncertain ending.
