20 years without Bene/Our lady of the Turks

"The lightning-fast passage of Carmelo Bene in the cinema, between 1968 and 1975, is a meteor that has created unclassifiable and basically removed works of our cinema": to say and support it is Emiliano Morreale, professor at the University of Rome La Sapienza and leading expert on the cinema of Bene who curates the review “Against the cinema. Review on Carmelo Bene's cinema ”screening in the spaces of the Castromediano Museum in Lecce. Coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the artist's death, the review includes 5 feature films and 2 short films to which is added "Edipo Re" by Pier Paolo Pasolini, where Bene plays Creon, and the short film "Ai Rotoli" by Daniele Ciprì and Franco Maresco, with the Benian reading of a text by Antonio Pizzuto. “Our lady of the Turks” is the first screening introduced by the writer Goffredo Fofi.
The appointment is part of the cycle of events organized by the Carmelo Bene Archive and the Biblio-museum complex in Lecce.
