È tutta colpa della Luna/ Antonio Pignatelli

"First I dream my paintings, then I paint my dreams". Vincent Van Gogh's famous words lend themselves perfectly, as Vittorio Scheroni states in his review, to providing an interpretation of Antonio Pignatelli's exhibition 'It's all the moon's fault' (È tutta colpa della Luna), curated by art critic Toti Carpentieri. Twenty works of contemporary art, on display at Must until 9 October, in which the Apulian artist brings to canvas evocative places and characters linked to the phases of the moon, the sea, nature, women, the sun, landscapes.
A theatre of life with all its feelings, restlessness, enchantment, happiness, desire, human relationships such as that between mother and son. Cosmic landscapes that are also landscapes of the soul where Antonio Pignatelli, of the same artistic generation as the Lecce Pignatellis, brother of Ercole and uncle of Luca, Francesco and Daniele, shows a distinct identity and, between a sunset and a mirage, recounts his youth and maturity. Diptychs and triptychs alternate modulated by colour contrasts in which gold leaf stands out, almost as if to evoke that symbolism that from Byzantine mosaics to Klimt defined an unreachable distance from the most human dimension.
The exhibition can be visited every day except Mondays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
