ANGELO SAVELLI

From Tuesday to Sunday (17-21 July/11-22 August)
Ticket: 5 euros (reduced 3)
Set in the city's historical centre, in the small square next to the Alcantarine church, the building housing the Rimbaud Foundation has been restored with respect for its historic context and transformed into a new exhibition space for contemporary art. The 12 rooms host the great names of art: André Lanskoj, Filippo de Pisis, Enrico Prampolini, Luigi Veronesi, Hans Hartung, Enzo Brunori, Alberto Burri, Bice Lazzari, François Morellet, Kengiro Azuma, Mario Schifano and many others but, on the ground floor, the Foundation offers the possibility of periodic focuses on individual artists. This is the case of Angelo Savelli (1911-1995), whose works are collected in the exhibition "L'artista del bianco" curated by Paolo Bolpagni. The exhibition is made up of 23 works created by the artist from Calabria between 1947 and 1981, and in the exhibition they follow a chronological path during which emerges "the abrupt passage between the first phase, characterised by strong colours and a pictorial material often dense and full-bodied, and the following one, where white becomes an exclusive choice, symbol of a search for the infinite".
